Meeting Location:
1.) Where are you located?
We are located at 10950 Oak St #1, Conneaut Lake, PA 16316. We are on the corner of Oak and Hickory. Google Maps will not bring you in correctly, but you can refer to our Contact Us page for specific directions. Signs will also be put out in the future.
2.) What time do you start?
We plan to start as close to 10am as possible. Folks are welcome to arrive up to 30 minutes beforehand, and are welcome to stay however long afterward.
3.) Why are you meeting in your home?
This first churches actually met in homes. Beside that, we feel that we ought to start small and only rent a meeting place if necessary. The goal of this Bible Study is not to “get big”. The goal is to promote and follow Christ. If that leads to numerical growth, then we will work with that in the future.
4.) Are you handicap accessible?
No. We have stairs that lead to where we live and our restroom. We have no space for wheelchairs. This will change if the Bible Study grows.
5.) Do you have childcare?
No. Parents are welcome to bring children. But, please understand there will be no real space to take them, if they are disruptive. Again, this will change if the Bible Study grows.
6.) How is parking?
Parking should be fine. We are meeting initially for only an hour on a Sunday Morning. Double parking is permitted and three spaces near the dumpster are allowed. Street parking is also allowed.
Meeting Details:
1.) Is this a church service?
No. While we would like for this to eventually become a full blown church service, we are starting small and simple. We have pianists & a piano for singing hymns & playing specials, but are not utilizing that yet. We are starting off just focusing on prayer and the teaching of the Word of God (in addition to getting to know one another).
2.) What should I wear?
Since we are meeting in our home, our family will not be dressed in our “Sunday Best”. We will be wearing modest casual/business attire. Anyone that comes is welcome to wear what they wish without fear of being judged on appearance.
3.) Am I welcome?
Yes. You are welcome. Anyone of any age, race, creed, culture, or gender is welcome!
4.) Should I give anything?
No. You should not, and we will not ask for any tithes or offerings. We are not a church and are not registered with the State or National government as such. We are not a for or non-profit business, so we cannot take any funds from anyone.
We are a ministry that will be self-financed for the time being.
5.) What should I bring?
Yourself, your Bible, and something to write with/on.
6.) What should I expect?
To be greeted and welcomed with a smile. To be asked for any prayer requests. To be taught the Word of God is a sound, understandable fashion. To have people pray for you throughout the week and be available for support.
7.) Anything else I should know?
We are meeting in a home. While we will do our best to keep it clean, it is lived in, so please understand that.
We also have a cat. He is a well-behaved Siamese that should not set off any allergies. No is not aggressive and we keep him under control.
We are not having snacks or food initially, but if you need to brings something to drink with you, that is fine.
Purpose of the Meeting (Eph 4:12-16):
1.) To glorify God, as we seek to learn about and follow Christ according to His Word
2.) To perfect (complete) the saints through the steady teaching and application of God’s Word
3.) To edify (build up & strengthen) the saints through the same
4.) To do the work of the ministry together (following Christ & preaching the Gospel)
5.) To be unified around the teachings of God’s Word
6.) To mature in Christ (as the above is accomplished)
